The NBLC Black Literacy Map is an interactive tool that shows where literacy resources are — and where they're missing — across Nashville's neighborhoods. Using real data, the map highlights things like library locations, early childhood programs, tutoring centers, and school reading scores, layered alongside information about poverty, housing, and other factors that shape whether families have access to learning opportunities.

Whether you're a parent looking for resources near you, a community advocate making the case for investment in your neighborhood, or simply someone who wants to understand the literacy landscape in Black Nashville, this map puts the picture right in front of you. Our goal is simple: when communities can see the gaps, they can work together to close them.
